Everyone wants to work from home. What better way is there to spend more time with your family while you earn money? You should know that there are tons of work-from-home jobs that you can do. You could go into marketing online or you could make money writing fiction from home.

Writing is not all that difficult to get into. You have to remember though, that there are many things you will need to know in order to write a good story. This is why many successful writers say that they went through some sort of writing course or have some sort of writing degree.

Like art, writing fiction is a creative process, so there is no need for you to have a tertiary degree. If you look a bit further you will find that there are many successful writers that do not have a degree in writing. Once you got that down, or once you have completed a short course in creative writing you will need to decide on which area you want to go into for your novel. Do you want to write for kids, teenagers or adults? This will be your first choice.

Do you prefer writing romance novels, murder mysteries, science fiction, children’s stories, theater plays, movie scripts, magazine editorials, and in what genre? This is the next thing you must decide on before you start looking for a career in writing fiction. You don’t have to just choose one either – keep your options open.
