The Turbulence Training Solution

Cardiovascular workout programs are uninteresting. Craig Ballantyne, creator of Turbulence coaching has some great solutions for making your everyday cardio more fun and effective.

Solution one : Interval training

Interval training is where you perform a period of hard work followed by a period of easy work. You may use interval training with any form of cardio equipment or activity.

I like to use high force jump roping and shadowboxing, but you may employ a still bike or treadmill. According to Craig, the most suitable time to do interval training is shortly after your strength coaching session.

This way, you have 3 full coaching days per week. But many have found that performing strength coaching and interval training every other day works just as fine.

However , this would mean that you may be training 5-6 days a week rather than just 3 days per week. The main thing is you get in the workout.

One last choice is to perform you interval exercise programmes in the morning, and strength workouts in the evening ( or vice versa ). Start your interval workout with a 5 minute warmup.

Then, choose from one of the following Interval training methods :

Workout A

Perform forty five mins of high magnitude cardio, followed by a 90 second period of lower intensity cardio. Ensure you bring it down to a pleasant, simple pace during the 90 second portion. This is your time of rest. Savour it. The 45 2nd / ninety second interval counts as one interval. Repeat this interval for a total of six times, or thirteen to 14 mins of training.

Workout B

Perform one minute of work, followed by ninety seconds of rest. Naturally this is harder than the forty five / ninety seconds workout. If you’re unable to finish 60 seconds of work, then return to forty five seconds. Spend 1 or 2 more weeks and forty five seconds, then try and bring it back up to 60 seconds.
